چکیده
Trontelj, P. & Gori~ki, [.: Monophyly of the family Proteidae (Amphibia: Caudata) tested by phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial 12s rDNA sequences. Nat. Croat., Vol. 12, No. 3., 113–120, 2003, Zagreb. A phylogenetic analysis of partial 12S rRNA mitochondrial gene sequences from representatives of salamandroid families provided moderate support for the monophyly of the family Proteidae, comprising the North American genus Necturus and the European blind cave salamander Proteus.

The phylogenetic relationships of Paramesotriton (Caudata: Salamandridae) based on partial mitochondrial DNA gene sequences
We examined phylogenetic relationships among newst of the genus Paramesotriton using partial mitochondrial gene sequences, including the ND2-tRNA region (1415 bp) and the 12S rDNA-tRNA-16S rDNA region (1774 bp), from 42 individuals of 10 recognized Paramesotriton species and outgroups by Bayesian inference (BI), Maximum likelihood (ML) and Maximum Parsimony (MP) methods. We found that, (1) Laot...
متن کاملPhylogenetic relationships of African caecilians (Amphibia: Gymnophiona): insights from mitochondrial rRNA gene sequences
—Africa (excluding the Seychelles) has a diverse caecilian fauna, including the endemic family Scolecomorphidae and six endemic genera of the more cosmopolitan Caeciliidae. Previous molecular phylogenetic studies have not included any caecilians from the African mainland. Partial 12S and 16S mitochondrial gene sequences were obtained for two species of the endemic African Scolecomorphidae and f...
متن کاملResolving deep phylogenetic relationships in salamanders: analyses of mitochondrial and nuclear genomic data.
Phylogenetic relationships among salamander families illustrate analytical challenges inherent to inferring phylogenies in which terminal branches are temporally very long relative to internal branches. We present new mitochondrial DNA sequences, approximately 2,100 base pairs from the genes encoding ND1, ND2, COI, and the intervening tRNA genes for 34 species representing all 10 salamander fam...
متن کاملPhylogeny of the Dragonfly and Damselfly Order Odonata as Inferred by Mitochondrial 12S Ribosomal RNA Sequences
The phylogenetic relationships among members of the Odonates were inferred from mitochondrial DNA 12S ribosomal RNA sequence data. These data show support for a monophyletic Anisoptera suborder, which are consistent with previous phylogenetic work performed on the group. However, the Zygoptera are paraphyletic based on mitochondrial DNA evidence. In particular, the family Lestidae appears more ...
متن کاملMolecular phylogenetic reconstruction of the endemic Asian salamander family Hynobiidae (Amphibia, Caudata).
The salamander family Hynobiidae contains over 50 species and has been the subject of a number of molecular phylogenetic investigations aimed at reconstructing branches across the entire family. In general, studies using the greatest amount of sequence data have used reduced taxon sampling, while the study with the greatest taxon sampling has used a limited sequence data set. Here, we provide i...
